Road test

It like starting an old car in the cold... as is its handling, but it was pretty successful until its violent end.
I think I need to slow its speed a little

ranger to servo

It seems I have got out most of the glitches and it functioning as I want... now I just have to road test it

ok, so Im attempting to make one solid prototype; a robot that can drive around and avoid any obstacles it sees.
So, Ive built the bodgy bot and now I just have to work out the code.
Before I can calculate where to turn from an obstacle Ive set up this little head scan proximity detection. The LED on top will light up when my hand is within 10cm range. Now I just need to take this info plus the angle of the head scan to work out where to turn...

robo vision...

ok, this needs to be more accurate, but as this took about 10 mins to setup, and I have little idea of what Im doing, Im very happy with the results.
The ranger is measuring the distance of the environment and its taking those values and feeding them back into the servo position. Basically this should stop anything I build from walking into a wall.

Got the model prints back from Moddler

The Grey head is 3inchs tall, and the blue guy is 5 inches.

Wobble bot

...actually just an arm that seems determine to knock that wine glass off the table.
This is an extension of the multiservo controller in the previous post.
Very wobbly, half the poor craftsmanship, half there is no 'ease in/ease out' in the servos, which might be the next challenge.
Spent most of this weekend looking for parts and tools, now that I have them... Ill probably just be getting some programing skills up.

Im (swine?) fluey, need another vino

Arduino Multi Servo control

This is my other project that Im working on.
Im doing some tests for some animatronic/robotics work that is branching out to many other possible projects...
I can safely say that I have become a total wannabe Arduino nerd.
All the info I used for this test can be found here:

Ive sent these 2 models to be printed in 3d at They could have done with more work, but had a healthy deadline to work to. The hammer guy was made specifically to be printed and was done in about 2 days (including some robes that I ditched because it was staring to look a little pretentious) The other guy is a cube model that I thought would be a good model to do a print test.
Looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

Some cube sketches, just messing with some expressions.

This is a Wip that I did over a couple of days and have dince tried to get back into... but kind of lost it. I do plan to do something with this at a later stage... like everything

It begins

The purpose of this blog will be to throw down whatever personal project sketches, WIPs and finished works that I want to share. Its intended as a bit of a personal scrap pile to the joint 'Soup and Baguette' blog that I share with other artists, and I hope it may even entertain some people... however unlikely!
